Omar dedicates this song to the Los Jornaleros’ old accordion. The bands’ accordion is not an expensive or professional instrument, but it has accompanied the band for many years. Thousands of people have enjoyed its sound during marches, rallies, protests, labor strikes and community celebrations. The years and the inclemency of climate, including rain and sun, have deteriorated it. But the band continues using it. We hope that it doesn’t stop singing to the workers, to the women who fight for equality and for the students to keep their dreams alive.
