about

Omar León wrote this song after witnessing the immigration raids conducted by the Riverside police and the border patrol. José, a day laborer, was stopped by the local police and turned over to the Border Patrol. The song narrates what happened to José when he was arrested: No right to see a judge and immediate deportation, while his wife and children think they might never see him again. His tears roll down to the ocean to join the tears of others who have lived the same experience.
